Blighty

The bigger picture

Times are changing. Changing fast. Are we witnessing the start of a new era? Let us explain. A bit of history.

Blighty - Pre the Industrial revolution

Before the industrial revolution Blighty was a nation of entrepreneurs. The whole world was a world of entrepreneurs. People worked at home as farmers, blacksmiths, butchers or tailors. Working for others was rare in most occupations other than the armed forces. This meant that virtually the entire workforce were entrepreneurs! Nowadays to be called an 'entrepreneur' is a form of flattery as it is rare for a person to start his own business. Back in 1750 to be called an entrepreneur would not have been to form of flattery at all! It was the norm to make money on ones own via starting a business. This all changed at the birth of the industrial revolution.

Blighty - The Industrial revolution

The Industrial revolution was a major shift in the technological, socioeconomic and cultural conditions in the late 18th century and early 19th century. It started here in Blighty and spread throughout the world. During that time, an economy that was based on manual labour was replaced by one dominated by industry and the manufacture of machinery.

After the industrial revolution things changed dramatically. It became the norm to go and work in factories and workplaces. In the late 20th century these became blue collar offices. The industrial revolution changed everything as humans chose to go and work for others as opposed to work for themselves. Suddenly to be an entrepreneur was a rarity.

However gradually we believe there has been a new shift. A new movement. A re-balance if you like. This movement has also started here in Blighty and is fast spreading throughout the world. Will this era come to be defined as the start of the 'enterprise revolution'??

Blighty - The Enterprise revolution

This shift is noticeable in our society today. This is primarily driven by the internet and technology that allows us to create business from our homes that can reach a world wide audience. Popular TV programmes such as the Apprentice and Dragons den are further evidence of this shift. The desire to create, work from home, be the master of ones own destiny are at the core of this movement. They are also the core of our philosophy here at Blighty creations. Chris started Blighty creations from his bedroom with just an idea and a computer. He is not the first person to have started like this and is joining a growing movement.

It seems fitting that the start of the industrial revolution started here and spread to the rest of the world. It seems it is our destiny to trigger the start of what will become seen as the enterprise revolution in years to come.

What's the recipe behind a good Blighty creation?

  1. A good idea
  2. The good idea to come from someone who hails from Blighty! All Blightys creators live and work in Blighty. This means that Blightys creators are the finest in the country. Quite literally.
  3. Thats it!

Finally, we will donate 5% of our profits to the Blighty Foundation.
